YOUTH IMMERSION PROGRAM
The youth education immersion weekend is a two day intensive program targeting young instrumentalists in Routt and Moffat Counties. These weekends occur bi-annually in the fall and spring of each calendar year and consist of several different ensemble offerings based upon level and instrument.
Through outreach on behalf of the program director and coaches, youth from both public and private schools and private music instructors participate.
Students are provided music specific to their instrument and ensemble and receive individualized coaching in the weeks leading up to the immersion weekend by their respective instructors. The culmination of weeks of practice leads to the anticipated arrival of Maestro Ernest Richardson and culminates in a showcase concert.
Over the years registration has increased as ensemble offerings have grown from string-only instruments to the addition of wind ensembles of woodwinds and brass. The program continues to grow as participated has increased to include a full orchestra ensemble.
