Steamboat Symphony Orchestra’s Education Program
Immersion Weekend with Ernest Richardson, Music Director
November 2 – 4, 2018

The Steamboat Symphony Orchestra is excited to offer its Fall 2018 Immersion Weekend for string musicians in the Yampa Valley.  Three orchestras will be offered for string players with established music-reading skills, along with a small ensemble offering for intermediate and advanced students.  Be sure to speak with your teacher if you are unsure which orchestra is right for you.

Early-Bird Registration Deadline: Friday, October 5
Registration Deadline: Monday, October 29

Chamber Ensemble Registration Deadline: Monday, October 1

Register by Friday, October 5 and receive $50 off the registration fee.  All applications received after Friday, October 5 will be the full cost of tuition.  Be sure to register early and save!

PROGRAMS & REPERTOIRE

Orchestra 1:  Level 1: “Goondiwindi” & “Pirates” melodies

Tuition: $125, Early Registration Tuition if received by 10/5/18: $75

Orchestra 2:  Level 2 – 3: “Goondiwindi” & “Rise of the Olympians” & “Pirates”

Tuition: $150, Early Registration Tuition if received by 10/5/18: $100

Orchestra 3:  Level 3+: “The Incredibles” & “Rise of the Olympians” & “Pirates”

Tuition: $170, Early Registration Tuition if received by 10/5/18: $120

Chamber Ensembles: Intermediate & Advanced Players

Additional Chamber Ensemble Tuition: $75

Intermediate and Advanced players may choose to enroll for participation in a chamber ensemble (3 to 6 players per group, Suzuki Book 3 level or higher). These groups will rehearse at least two times prior to the Immersion Weekend with coaches Mary Anne Fairlie &/or Teresa Steffen Greenlee. Registration for participation in a chamber group must be received no later than Monday, October 1

Friday 11/2 in the Steamboat High School Band Room:

3:45 – 5:15: Chamber Ensembles (TBA)
5:30 – 6:30: All Orchestras:  Pirates of the Caribbean
6:35 – 7:35: Orchestras 2 & 3:  Rise of the Olympians

Saturday 11/3 in the Steamboat High School Band Room:

9:15 – 10:15: Orchestras 1 & 2: Goondiwindi
10:15 – 11:15: All Orchestras: Pirates of the Caribbean
11:15 – 12:00: Orchestras 2 & 3: Rise of the Olympians
12:00 – 12:45: Orchestra 3: The Incredibles

Lunch break

1:00:  All orchestras arrive, move to auditorium
1:00 – 1:45: All Orchestras: Pirates of the Caribbean
1:45 – 2:30: Orchestras 2 & 3: Rise of the Olympians
2:30 – 3:15: Orchestra 3: The Incredibles
3:15 – 4:45: HS/Chamber Ensembles possible (TBA)

Sunday 11/4 in the Steamboat High School Auditorium:

9:30 – 10:00: Orchestra 1 & 2: Goondiwindi
10:00 – 10:30:  All Orchestras: Pirates of the Caribbean
10:30 – 11:00: Orchestra 2 & 3: Rise of the Olympians, Orchestra 1 Sectional if needed
11:00 – 11:30: Orchestra 3:  The Incredibles, Orchestra 1 & 2 Sectional if needed
11:30 – 12:00: HS/Chamber Ensembles (TBA)

Lunch break

12:30 – 1:30: HS/Chamber Ensembles (TBA)
1:30 – 3:30: Dress Rehearsal:  All players (detailed schedule TBA)
4:00:  Celebration Concert (Concert attire is black bottoms, white tops)
