Steamboat Symphony Orchestra’s Education Program
Immersion Weekend with Ernest Richardson, Music Director

November 15 – 17, 2019

 

The Steamboat Symphony Orchestra is excited to offer its Fall 2019 Immersion Weekend for string musicians in the Yampa Valley.  Three orchestras will be offered for string players with established music-reading skills, along with a small ensemble offering for intermediate and advanced students.  Be sure to speak with your teacher if you are unsure which orchestra is right for you.

Early-bird registration ends Monday, October 28.

To take advantage of Early-Bird Registration pricing, registration and payment must be received no later than Monday, October 28. If you need financial assistance, please submit your registration form by October 28th and contact Jennifer Robinson at executivedirector@steamboatorchestra.org requesting the specific financial assistance amount you are unable to pay.  You will be contacted to confirm scholarship availability.

Program Offerings:

Orchestra 1:  Level 1: “Earigami” & “1812 Overture” / Tuition: $125, Early Registration Tuition if received by 10/28/19: $75

Orchestra 2:  Level 2 – 3: “Earigami” & “1812 Overture” & “Jasmine Flower” / Tuition: $150, Early Registration Tuition if received by 10/28/19: $100

Orchestra 3: Level 3+: “1812 Overture” & “Jasmine Flower” & III. Dance from “Brook Green Suite” / Orchestra 3 students are welcome to join Earigami if their schedules permit. / Tuition: $150, Early Registration Tuition if received by 10/28/19: $100

Chamber Ensembles: Intermediate and Advanced players may choose to enroll for participation in a chamber ensemble (3 to 6 players per group, Suzuki Book 3 level or higher). These groups will rehearse at least two times prior to the Immersion Weekend. Registration for participation in a chamber group must be received no later than Friday, October 25Additional Chamber Ensemble Tuition: $75

Friday 11/15 in the Middle School Auditorium:

3:45 – 5:15: Chamber Ensembles (TBA)

5:30 – 6:30: All Orchestras:  1812 Overture

6:30 – 7:00: Orchestras 2 & 3:  Jasmine Flower

7:00 – 7:30: Orchestra 3: Dance from Brook Green Suite

 

Saturday 11/16 in the Middle School Band Room &/or Auditorium:

9:15 – 10:15: Orchestras 1 & 2: Earigami

10:15 – 11:30: All Orchestras: 1812 Overture

11:30 – 12:00: Orchestras 2 & 3: Jasmine Flower

Lunch break

12:30 – 1:15: All Orchestras: 1812 Overture

1:15 – 2:15: Orchestra 3: Brook Green Suite (Dance)

2:30 – 3:30: High School Orchestra (Chamber Ensembles as well?)

3:30 – 4:15: Chamber Ensembles

 

Sunday 11/4 in the Middle School Auditorium:

9:30 – 10:00: Orchestra 1 & 2: Earigami

10:00 – 10:30:  All Orchestras: 1812 Overture

10:30 – 11:00: Orchestra 2 & 3: Jasmine Flower, Orchestra 1 Sectional if needed

11:00 – 11:30: Orchestra 3:  Brook Green III. Dance, Orchestra 1 & 2 Sectional if needed

11:30 – 12:15: HS Orchestra/Chamber Ensembles

Lunch break

12:30 – 1:30: Chamber Ensembles (TBA)

1:30 – 3:30: Dress Rehearsal:  All players (detailed schedule TBA)

4:00:  Celebration Concert (Concert attire is black bottoms, white tops)
